Questions about TruMoo Single Serve Milk Box Ingredients

High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is a sweetener that is made by changing some of the sugar in cornstarch (glucose) to fructose, another form of sugar. The end product is a combination of fructose and glucose. HFCS is a common ingredient in many sodas, fruit-flavored drinks and other processed foods. TruMoo single serve milk boxes contain no HFCS.

TruMoo is sweetened with the just right amount of sugar to supplement lactose, the naturally occurring sugar in milk. Research shows that 'Children who drink milk, either plain or flavored, tend to have superior overall nutrient intake compared with children who don’t drink milk.'

Many sodas and fruit drinks can contain up to 32 grams of sugar per serving. By comparison, plain TruMoo single serve milk boxes contain 12 grams of sugar per serving, while vanilla and chocolate flavors contain 18 grams of sugar per serving. Plus, TruMoo milk contains 8 essential nutrients that every growing body needs, as well as calcium, protein, and Vitamin D.

TruMoo is made with fresh milk, so it contains the same 8 essential nutrients regular milk has. These are calcium, protein, potassium, phosphorus, riboflavin and vitamins A, D and B12.

We are happy to say that TruMoo single serve milk boxes do not contain wheat, barley, rye or any soybean products.

No way! MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) is a commonly used flavor enhancer found mostly in prepackaged goods. TruMoo does not contain any added MSG.

Questions about Sourcing TruMoo Single Serve Milk Boxes

We procure milk from independent farmers and dairy cooperatives that meet industry and federal standards for humane animal treatment, including the provision of a nutritious diet. That may include grazing or a diet supplemented with grains, hay, or other feeds.

Farmers may choose to treat their animals with antibiotics; however, if a cow is treated with antibiotics they are removed from the milking herd and their milk is not used until the cow tests negative for antibiotics. Once the cow has tested negative for antibiotics, they return to the milking herd and their milk is shipped along with the rest of the herd. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires dairy producers to test for commonly used antibiotics, and we never allow milk testing positive for these antibiotics to be used in TruMoo single serve milk boxes.

No. The milk used to produce TruMoo single serve milk boxes comes from trusted local and regional dairies that raise cows without the use of artificial growth hormones.
